About Travel Gym Reviews

We built this site because finding a decent gym while traveling is annoying, and the existing information is almost always useless. Generic descriptions, outdated hours, grainy Facebook photos from 2014. Google Maps will get you to the door, but it won't tell you whether the squat rack is buried behind a spin class or the AC hasn't worked since 2019. If you've ever showed up somewhere expecting a serious training environment and found two resistance bands and a broken treadmill, you know.

I'm Chris, the founder — a lifter, sometime CrossFit coach, and personal trainer who travels for work and worldschooling with my family. Every reviewer on this site trains the same way: we show up, use the place like a regular member, and write what we actually found. The equipment, the vibe, the friction, and whether it's worth rearranging your day for. One of our first stops anywhere new is a recce of the fitness landscape: gyms, food availability, the general energy of a place.

The plan is to build this out city by city as we travel. Stick with us by email by joining the TGR list.
