Coach-Led Strength & HIIT Training on Syros
If you’re looking for guided training, or high intensity circuit training classes on Syros, BePersonal is your spot.
Giannis, the owner, realized a personal dream in opening this gym only 2 months before our visit, and it shows in the care and detail. Honestly, it’s sparkling. The bathrooms and showers are Airbnb-superhost level, and every piece of equipment is shiny and new. The moody purple and pink ambient lighting, combined with Giannis’ (pronounced Yannis) infectious smile and approachable energy, gives you the immediate sense that this place hits a little different.
Core Offerings (Important to Know Before You Sign Up)
There are three main offerings at BePersonal, and you should know this upfront:
this is not a gym where you walk in and run your own program.
If you’re looking for open gym, this ain’t it. If you want structure and coaching, keep reading.
Group Strength training:
This is guided small-group strength training, run in cycles. One day might focus on back and biceps, another on legs, another on full body for example.
The trainer is there to listen to your input, correct your form, or suggest alternative lifts, If you have an injury or need an adaptation, there’s someone there to guide you.
Think: real strength training, just done in small groups rather than solo.
High Intensity Circuit Training (HIIT) (Team Beats)
If you like high-energy, music-pumping, and a bit of competition, Team Beats is their OrangeTheory / bootcamp-style offering. It runs in a dedicated room and is powered by Technogym.
I know Technogym has its detractors. Be that as it may, I both led one of these sessions and took part in another, and I thought it was crazy fun. Maybe that’s my CrossFit background talking, but still. We had a mixed-ability group and everyone enjoyed it.
You wear a heart-rate armband, and at the end you get performance stats showing effort, reps, and overall output. If you like data, structure, and a bit of friendly competition, this one lands well.
Full Personal Training
If you don’t want to think at all, and just want a tall, fit Greek man to guide you towards your fitness goals, Giannis offers 1-on-1 personal training in limited supply. They also will coach couples, which is a nice touch if you’re training together while traveling.
Bonus: the AI-Powered Health Checkup
BePersonal also offers a very high tech and expensive looking AI assessment called the Technogym Checkup. It measures body composition, estimated biological age, VO₂ max, and more, using bioelectrical impedance similar to smart scales, just with a lot more going on.
While it can’t replace the gold standard of the Dexa for body fat percentage and lean mass measurements, I’ve never had a Dexa tell me how flexible my neck is (spoiler: not very).
Recommended For:
BePersonal is a great fit if you’re looking for structure, coaching, and a boutique gym experience while on Syros. The facilities are five-star, the vibe is welcoming, and you’re clearly in good hands.
My take: if you want to strength train or get your high-intensity work in without ever having to think about programming, BePersonal is an easy recommendation.
TL;DR
What it is: A boutique, coach-led gym on Syros focused on guided strength training and high-energy circuit classes.
Best for: People who want structure, coaching, and zero programming decisions while traveling.
Not for: Anyone looking for open gym or to run their own program.
Vibe: Immaculate, modern, friendly, and just a bit flashy in a good way.
Standout: Small group strength cycles, fun HIIT classes with data feedback, and an AI fitness checkup.
Bottom line: If you want to train hard without thinking too much, BePersonal makes it easy — and pleasant.
